Grandma Rebecca

Have you ever had someone in your life that you were just plain thankful for? I met my friend, Rebecca, at a church group I was in when I was pregnant and never in my life would I have expected that she’d become like a mom to me and the best “adopted grandma” Akyah could ask for. Recently, Akyah and I visited Rebecca at work and everyone there knew who Akyah was, has seen her blog not to mention the fact that Rebecca had Akyah’s picture on the background of her computer, her picture on her desk, and brags about her to everyone! How amazing is that?!? Words cannot express how thankful I am to have her in our lives. When I found out I was pregnant, I pretty much knew instantly I would be a single mom and I was devastated to be in that situation but knew my dad would be a rock for us both. Things, unfortunately, did not work out that way and it’s hard for me, it breaks my heart (more than words can describe) that I’ll never have the opportunity to see my dad play with Akyah and love on her only the way my dad could.

So, to Rebecca, our mom and grandma, who faithfully reads this blog… we love you and are thankful to have you in our lives! You are an amazing woman with a heart for Jesus and truly lives by the Word. You lead by example and I am forever thankful and grateful to you for the way you love and cherish my daughter (and me).
