There is just something special and peaceful about sunny Sundays and little girls wearing cute dresses to church... What a beautiful weekend it's been. Akyah got over a stomach flu just in time for this gorgeous weather we've been having. After a fabulous church service, Akyah and I headed home to blow up her 1st baby pool with grandma Rebecca. Akyah didn't play in it for a long time as it was nap time but it was fun to see her splash around for a little bit. I found the perfect pool with a palm tree top to keep her in shade:

9-month check-up
Akyah had her 9-month check-up yesterday. She now weighs 17 lbs. and is 27 3/4 in. long. She got her 3rd Hep B shot, she got it now so it's one less at her 12-month check-up. When I took her out to weigh her instead of taking her out in a dry diaper I took her out in no diaper and she peed all over me :o) ha ha ha- I thought it was funny and I'm pretty sure it's in my mommy job description. Oh and Akyah is officially starting to cute her 1st tooth- yay Akyah! Here are a couple pictures of Akyah before her appointment, looking extremely cute as always:

Kaleigh's birthday weekend
Akyah and I went to California this last weekend for her big sister, Kaleigh's, 8th birthday! Friday we had a girls shopping day and Friday night we had a pizza party at her grandparent's house along with some other family and friends. It was Akyah and I's first time meeting all of them and felt very welcomed! What a nice, loud family (reminded me a lot of the Burger family) The kids were running around, wrestling with grandma and grandpa, and having a blast. It was very neat for me to see Akyah interacting with the grandparents but also felt very sad because I desperately wish I could see her play with her grandpa Burger like that. Saturday was Kaleigh's birthday party at "Pump It Up" which has a lot of in-door inflatables~ it was a lot of fun for all the kids (and the adults)... Kaleigh had a really good turn out; friends from school, soccer, and family. We got Kaleigh a pink digital camera so she can take lots of pictures at camp this summer and she was pretty excited about the gift.
We had a really good weekend and were sad to come home. I wish the kids could spend more time together. It is absolutely amazing to see how far Kameron has come with his disability (autism), Jessica and Vic (his step-dad) are doing an amazing job. On Saturday morning I was feeding Akyah breakfast and this is how my conversation with Kameron went:
Kameron: (grabs my hand) Come on, lets go
Me: Where do you want to go?
Kameron: To the van to go shopping
Me: You want to go shopping?
Kameron: Yes, lets go shopping at the mall
This is a boy who could never answer a question, usually spoke in 1-2 words (if that), and was not potty trained. Kameron now asks to go potty if not at home, answers questions, and is very good about dressing himself and purposely puts his clothes on backwards (it's actually quite funny).
Akyah had her 1st teething biscuit on Saturday night (I wanted to wait until she was 9 months old). I don't think she quite knew what to think... Here is a video:
Here is a really cute video of Akyah in the tub with baby Rivers, who will be 1 in a few weeks. The best part of the video is Kameron's "It's a dinosaur" for the camera... See for yourself and please note Akyah in the back of the tub steadily chewing on the tub toys:
Kameron continued to run to his room and bring the babies as many toys as he could for them to play with in the tub, it was really very sweet- Kam loves his little brother and sissy too.
